38th ADA Brigade hosts Suicide Prevention Month 5K at Sagami General Depot
Partnering with the Army Substance Abuse Program, the 38th Air Defense Artillery Brigade hosted the 5K to mark Suicide Prevention Month, observed each September to build mental resilience and foster strong bonds across the force.
Among the runners was Pfc. Kamron Shanklin, who said he enjoyed the event and the opportunity to run alongside fellow Soldiers.
“Today’s event was pretty fun. I like how everybody got together,” Shanklin said. “We all ran together. We were able to work as a team and push each other.”
Shanklin said the run was more than physical conditioning; it reminded Soldiers that they do not stand alone.
“If you’re struggling, somebody’s going to be there for you,” he said. “We’re going to do it together. Regardless of what we’re doing, it’s all one team and one big family.”
