ICYMI: Democrats in Concord Call Out John Sununu’s Abysmal Record on Social Security and Medicare

Representative Janet Lucas: “While he was in office, John Sununu repeatedly voted to cut Medicare and led the charge to privatize Social Security. Time and again, he let our seniors down, selling them out to do what corporate special interests and his fellow Republicans wanted. Now, it looks like more cuts to these critical programs could be on the horizon.”

Representative Eileen Kelly: “Overall, more than 15,000 Granite Staters have lost their Medicaid since Trump’s Big Ugly Bill went into effect — and that includes over 5,000 children, here in New Hampshire. These are our neighbors, friends, and family members. They are Republicans, Democrats, and independents. But to Sununu, it doesn’t seem to matter.”

Advocate Sherri Harden: “After all, Sununu has a record of repeatedly attempting to privatize Social Security while he was in office, which would’ve put Granite Staters’ retirement accounts at the whims of the very risky stock market while helping Wall Street firms line their pockets.”
