Trump Cuts Ties with MAGA Supporter Over Epstein Files Push

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump has terminated his political alliance with high-profile MAGA supporter Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, charging her with Republican betrayal and adopting radical leftist positions.

In a Saturday declaration on Truth Social, the president revoked all backing and endorsements for the veteran GOP legislator.

"Marjorie 'Traitor' Green [sic] is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!" he wrote.

"Over the past few weeks, despite my creating Record Achievements for our Country… all I see 'Wacky' Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!" he said in a separate post.

Trump claimed the rift originated after sharing polling data showing her at 12% approval among Georgia voters, subsequently recommending against gubernatorial or senatorial campaigns. He said the dispute began after he sent her a poll indicating she had a 12% approval rating in Georgia and advised her not to run for senator or governor, and he added that since then "she has gone Far Left."
Responding via multiple X platform posts, Greene contended the president rescinded support due to her aggressive advocacy for Justice Department disclosure of all remaining documentation concerning convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, who allegedly died by suicide while incarcerated in 2019.

"I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are," she wrote on Saturday after the president pulled his endorsement.

Greene asserted Trump was severing their relationship to "make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next week's vote to release the Epstein files."

A legislative petition compelling a floor vote on mandating DOJ file release secured sufficient congressional signatures Wednesday, with the vote slated for the upcoming week.

Days earlier, the US House Oversight Committee made public approximately 20,000 documents connected to Epstein's estate holdings. House Democrats subsequently released correspondence from the cache wherein the deceased predator claimed Trump "knew about the girls."

Following that revelation, the president directed an investigation into the sex trafficker's connections to notable Democrats, including Bill Clinton, while denouncing opposition forces for weaponizing what he termed the "Epstein Hoax" as political misdirection.
