Overnight Russian Drone Attack Kills Five in Ukraine
The attack unleashed roughly 500 combat drones and over 50 missiles, including Kinzhal hypersonic and cruise missiles, the president detailed on social media.
Targeting nine regions across western, southern, northern, eastern, and central Ukraine, the offensive caused widespread damage.
In the western Lviv region, the Prosecutor's Office reported that four family members, among them a 15-year-old child, lost their lives. It described the strike as the most severe assault on Lviv since the war began, severely damaging multiple industrial and energy facilities.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyy confirmed the Sparrow industrial park was set ablaze during the bombardment.
Authorities also confirmed attacks on vital infrastructure in the northern Chernihiv and western Ivano-Frankivsk regions, impacting energy facilities.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry stated on Sunday that its forces executed large-scale overnight strikes targeting Ukraine's military-industrial complexes and gas and energy infrastructure.
