Gaza Starves: Israeli Blockade Kills Two More Palestinians
(MENAFN) Two additional Palestinians have died from starvation and malnutrition due to the severe Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip, the Health Ministry confirmed on Sunday.
According to a ministry statement, the latest deaths bring the total number of famine-related fatalities since October 2023 to 422, including 145 children.
Last month, the UN-supported Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared that famine conditions were now present in northern Gaza, warning that the crisis could intensify as Israel's blockade persists.
Since October 2023, Israeli airstrikes and military operations have claimed the lives of over 64,800 Palestinians, leaving the region in ruin.
In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to their actions in Gaza.
Additionally, Israel is currently facing a case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over allegations of genocide linked to its ongoing military operations in Gaza.
